CROSS CHECK SARGON vs NASTRAN

Here in the following you will find the links to a set of schedules (presently 25, but they will be increased), which show the precision of Sargon solver (CLEVER) in tests made up of elements of various kind. They are tests aimed to show the precision in the implementation of elements and loads, and of the solving and stress recovery phases. They are a subset of the tests usually executed to check the reliability of the Sargon versions released.

The following solvers are used:

NE NASTRANŠ by Noran Engineering version 9.2

NX NASTRANŠ by UGS version 4.1

When comparing the membrane part of the stresses keep in mind that are compared elements with no drilling dofs. In the plate problems it has been explained if the plate is thick or thin. Presently NE NASTRANŠ seems not able to distinguish between thin and thick plates.

The models have been created in Sargon and then converted to FEMAPŠ 9.2.file format. FEMAP has then created the input file for the chosen solvers.

More tests of the many available are being published in this web site (particularly plate and solid tests, or tests of models having thousands degrees of freedom, so as to prove solver effectiveness in large problems). Also, keep in mind that many tests have been published in the two works:
