It is a wide and ambitious work, referring to the analysis of steel connections. The book is the result of some like 17 years of study, research and development. It describes the theoretical background of the software C.S.E..

CSE (Connection Study Environment) has been the first software in the world to automate the checks of generic connections, and to solve problems like the automatic detection of equal nodes, or the automatic fem modeling of nodes, opening an entire new field of applications, unexplored. In some years, other software houses have proposed software apparently similar. CSE is on the market since the year 2008, and the research has started in year 1999-2000.

No program really innovative may be written without years and years of study, and CSE is no exception. It has been developed in many years of study, research and tryouts. The book explains the most part of the research done, and describes the analysis of steel connection thanks to a number of brand new methods. No existing book adopts this approach to steel connection analysis. Therefore it is absolute news in the publishing panorama of steel structures engineering.

The publisher, John Wiley & Sons, is one of the two or three most important worldwide for technical publishing, and will assure to the book the widest diffusion and visibility. This web page has been written in September 2017, the foreseen book availability is January, 2018. The book, which is expected to have 480 pages, will be hardcover and in colour. The format is 170x244 mm. Three versions will be available: in paper (ISBN 978-1-119-30346-6), in ePUB file format (ISBN 978-1-119-30353-4) and in PDF file format (ISBN 978-1-119-30348-0). This book is a serious effort aimed at the systematization of steel connection analysis and check. It describes a number of general methods useful to check every type of connection or joint, with an arbitrarily high number of members, with any inclination and loads. It proposes a system to analyze connections that enables to deal with steel connections using methods similar to the ones already in use for normal structures. The steel connection analysis issue is seen in its generality, and faced in a global perspective. It is the very first book to deal with this problem using this approach.
